Intensive Ayurveda Therapist Certification Course (20th August 2017 to 20th sept 2017)

About the course:

This course is offered by Ayuskama Ayurveda Clinic and Panchakarma center, this is an  intensive version of the 3 months Level 1 Ayurveda therapist program. It is specially offered for students those who are unable to stay for a period of 3 months at Dharamshala.

We have developed a unique program which will give you a tangible framework and practical methodology of studying and understanding Ayurveda. Through our experience of teaching international students, we found many people try to learn Ayurveda in bits and pieces through various sources, resulting in fragmented knowledge. They struggle to understand the whole picture of Ayurveda because they lack a proper learning methodology.

Charaka the Father of Ayurvedic medicine has already said:
The understanding of the total nature of a subject does not arise from a fragmentary knowledge of it. (Charaka samhita Vi 4/5- 1500 B.C.E)

Our aim is to bring this fragmented knowledge into a cohesive whole. The course includes comprehensive theoretical and practical applications of Ayurveda;. Ayurveda is a science of common sense; the course is designed for a proper rational understanding to translate this knowledge into daily life. It will help you to enhance self care and wellness for you and your loved ones. As well the course will give sound guidance for developing an ethical practice as an Ayurvedic.

Daily program and general routine:

There will be 4 hours of Ayurveda studies everyday, starting from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, there will be short refreshment break of 15 minutes in between the session..

Getting to Dharamsala

AIR - The nearest airport is at Gaggal, 15 km southwest from Dharamsala. You can fly here with Air India or Spice Jet from Delhi. The Taxi from Gaggal costs around 1000 Rupees to Mcleod Ganj, and it’s around 45 minutes drive. If direct flights to Dharamsala are not available there are other possibilities to reach here by air: take a flight to Jammu (180 km from us), Chandigarh (240 km from us) or Amritsar (197 km) and then take a pre-paid taxi to McLeod Ganj. You will reach to us within 4 -5 hours. The taxi shouldn’t cost more than 6500 Rupees (100€).

BUS - There are daily bus services from Delhi to Dharamsala every evening, it’s about 10 to 12 hours journey. This option is the most economical. Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation operates buses on daily base. There are Air Condition and Non-Air Condition buses available according to your budget. Bus services are also possible from Manali and Shimla.

TRAIN -Pathankot is 85-km and is the nearest train station for Dharamshala. Trains from all over the country make a stopover at Pathankot and from here it is a three-hour journey to Dharamsala.

Feel free to contact us if you need any help to get to us!

About Dharamshala, Accommodation & other information

Accommodation: We will not be providing any food and accommodation during the course, but we will help the students to find a suitable accommodation in nearby guest houses. There are plenty of guest houses in the Area where you can easily get accommodation ranging from 500 rupees per day to 1500 rupees per day.

Eating : There are plenty of restaurants nearby ranging from normal indian food to all the major westren and continental cuisines. students can also ask us for any help if they need an accommodation with a shared or private kitchen for cooking their own food.

Indian Monsoon season : This course is being run with the possibility of there still being some rain in the first part of the course. With respect to that, please be aware that you will need to bring clothing and footwear appropriate to the season. If you haven't experienced an Indian Monsoon before, this is not your normal rainstorm! When the rain comes, it pours out of the sky with exuberant abundance! It is quite an experience but if you are unprepared it can have its challenges. Please come prepared, in mind and body. In 2014 there was no rain at all during this period and it didn't come till later, the year before it had all finished by this time. As you can see, there is really no rhyme or reason to when it will start and finish. The best we can be is prepared.  For those who have challenges with allergies in damp weather please come with those things that you would normally take.
